Happy Easter everybody. I'm not sure why christians named jesus' resurrection day after the pagan goddess' holiday, but Happy Eostre to you anyway!
The Easter bunny was a sacred symbol for the goddess. If you're good, then you might get an Easter egg.
Happy Eostre!

That's very interesting!
Haha that's a hilarious picture.
The Catholic church proselytized by pandering to pagans.
Not long ago Christian rock was an oxymoron. These days, Christain death metal is not unheard of.
On the topic of superimposing religions, consider the story of Attis 6000 before and the story of Jesus' resurrection.
Which meme prevails? The Christian one or the one that lurked beneath the surface for untold millennia.
Thanks for your insight guys. I think the background behind easter is fascinating stuff. We should all research the true meaning behind it rather than just blindly following tradition. I think everyone should learn more about stuff on everything.
Strangely, there is christian death metal.
It wasn't just Attis. There were tons of other pagan gods and christlike figures that predated christianity by centuries or millenia. There were Mithras, Osiris, Dionysus, and even Buddha. Interestingly, all those myths were eerily similar to christianity's story about christ. I'll leave it to you to discuss further.
Yes David.
Yet the Church so often emphasize the uniqueness of the resurrection story as selling point.
Dear anonymous,
That's b/c xtians constitute the #1 religion in the world. All the other religions have been deemed fake myths. How dare you compare the one true g-d to false idols?!!!!!!!!
Satan has confused the world with lies and by pagans adultering the christ story with their own.
As it is written:
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile."
1 Corinthians 3:18-20 (New International Version)
and
As it is written:
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
1 Corinthians 1:27
Anonymous, YHWH g-d will shame you for thinking you are so wise!
Humble thyself and bow down to h-m!!
g-d bless you!
David
Why so angry David?
"That's b/c xtians constitute the #1 religion in the world. All the other religions have been deemed fake myths."
So the Church emphasizes the uniqueness of the resurrection story because Christians constitue the #1 religion and all other religions have been deemed fake? Do you really mean that? I think you may need to re-examine what you read and what you meant to say.
"How dare you compare the one true g-d to false idols?!!!!!!!!"
I did? Oh my, what sacrilege. LOL. Please re-read what I said.
"Anonymous, YHWH g-d will shame you for thinking you are so wise!"
I think I am so wise? How do you gather that from what I posted? You are reading things that aren't there my friend.
Christians have always stole the great accomplishments of others to Christianize them. Holidays are just one example. Infact, there isn't much original in Christianity period. Even all Christian beliefs can be traced to older non-Christian or "pagan" religions.
xtianity is the most powerful meme in the world!
