Cinderella Man

Cinderella Man Posted by Picasa

I thought this was a great movie, and I highly recommend watching it to anyone. This was much more than a boxing movie. It's similar to Rocky, but has more depth to it.

The movie is based on the life of James J. Braddock who became a hero during the Great Depression of the early 1930's. He is played by Russell Crowe. Renee Zellweger plays his wife. It's directed by Ron Howard.

Braddock was the light heavyweight champ until he broke his hand. He and his family lost everything during the Depression. They didn't have enough money to buy food or pay for the heating bills. During all those difficult situations, he never compromised his values. He was like a saint. When he got a second chance to fight in the ring, he overcame all obstacles for the sake of his family. This was a truly moving film. Just like Cinderella though, you know what happens in the end.

David Kim's rating: A, 92.
