Game of Thrones Finale

Warning, Spoilers!

Well Game of Thrones has finally ended and it has been a great ride. GoT was the best TV show ever!  Okay, the last two seasons haven't been as great as the first 6 seasons, but it was still probably better than most of the other shows out there.

I don't think anyone thought that Jon Snow would end up killing Dany or that Bran would end up being King before Season 8 started.

Dany was supposed to be the Breaker of Chains. Everyone looked up to her as Khaleesi. Even though there were signs pointing to her going this way, I still think that it was a little too rushed. I thought that Dany would use her dragons in battle at King's Landing ever since she got her dragons and started amassing her army of the Unsullied and the Dothraki. I didn't think she would turn into the Mad Queen and totally destroy the city full of innocent women and children. Her dragon basically destroyed the entire city. She didn't even need her 2 armies. She and Drogon basically destroyed the entire city by herself. I thought that she was only going to destroy Cercei's army. However, she just snapped and started destroying the entire city after the bells rang.

In the final episode, it seemed like she still wanted to make the world a better place. She wanted to destroy all the evil people and let people be free. However, it had to be her way and what she thought was right. Nobody else had a say in it. Still, I thought it was too soon for Jon to kill her. Maybe she could have made a better world. She did kill thousands of innocent people in King's Landing. Maybe she would have only killed the evil slavers in other cities like in the previous episodes. Now that Jon just straight up murdered his lover and aunt, we will never know.

Bran could end up being a good king. He is the Three-Eyed Raven. He does seem to be wise and all knowing. He could see the future and warg himself into different animals to see what's happening in the world.

Jon could have been a good king too. With most of the worst enemies gone, he could have ruled the kingdom peacefully since he was a good guy.

Tyrion could have been a good king too. He was smart and did seem to have the best interests of the people in mind.

It's hard to make a tv show that has a good ending that will satisfy most people. Not many shows have had great endings. Shows like Lost and Battlestar Galactica were awesome, but the endings ruined it for a lot of people. The shows just built up so much expectation in peoples' minds that if the endings didn't have mind-blowing endings, people would end up disappointed.

GoT's ending seemed to be fitting for the most part. GoT wasn't about happy endings so we knew it wasn't going to be a totally feel good story.

I would give Game of Thrones a 9.2 out of 10 overall.

I don't know if I can keep up with the 3 or so spinoff shows that are planned later. That seems to be too much tv for me. We'll see how good they turn out.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 "The Bells" - What the Hell?!!

Warning -- Spoilers!

Someone forgot to tell Dany that when Missandei said, "Dracarys!" before she got her head chopped off in Episode 4, she didn't mean burn the whole damn city down! Dang! It was a visually stunning episode seeing Drogon the Dragon destroy everything. It seemed that Drogon had infinite fire breathing power as he kept blowing up everything with fire. I was disappointed to see Dany turn into the Mad Queen so quickly. She was supposed to be the Saviour! I think they should have spent more time showing how she became crazy instead of just saying that she finally snapped at the end with all her closest friends dying and nobody loving her as much as they did "Know-Nothing" Jon Snow. She said she was the freer of chains. Now, she killed innocent women and children. What was she thinking?! Obviously she wasn't thinking of the consequences. You can't expect people to not try and assassinate you if you burned thousands of people alive. I think Arya is going to try and kill Dany in the final episode. She had the look on her face.

Welcome back to the David Kim Show!

After 9 years, I plan to start blogging again. I stopped after I started mostly updating Facebook. I got tired of Facebook too and stopped updating. Now, I plan on blogging again. Let me know what types of things you would be interested in reading. I was planning on writing about my life and cycling and anything that comes to mind.

Facebook is Killing my Blog

My blog is being neglected because of Facebook. I apologize once again to my Blog fans. No one can serve two masters. I've got too many things going on, and I can't handle everything. I need to use my time more wisely. I've got to focus on the important things and not get distracted by the millions of things that I want to do. I've got a To Do list that is as thick as a textbook and I need to cut it back down. I've got to start over again. I feel like I'm drowning in things to do, and they're driving me crazy. I've got to stop being so anal and stop trying to do everything. I need to just do what's important like work and exercise. I probably should cut back on facebooking too if not quit altogether. It's such a huge time-suck.

Road Rash

The other day I was cycling to Pasadena when I fell off my bike at high speed. I was going 35 mph+ downhill in Pasadena when a red pickup truck approaching from the other side tried to make a left turn in front of me. I swerved to the right and lost control of my bike. My front wheel started skidding and I fishtailed. I slid on my left arm the most and got really bad road rash. I got scrapes on my right arm, right knee, and left knee too, but my left arm is the worst. My bike's handlebar is scraped up and I should replace it. I just rewrapped it with handlebar tape. My bike seat is shredded. My bike pedals and rear wheel skewer is also scraped up. My backpack has holes in it now. My bike lycra shorts were shredded to bits. My watch was also scratched.

I had to bike back home quarter-naked, because my lycra shorts were shredded to bits on the left side.

A nurse who was walking by witnessed it and stopped the pickup truck from leaving. I was shook up and didn't know what happened. I was most worried about my bike. Since I could ride it back home, and I didn't get any broken bones, I let the driver off the hook. I didn't pursue any claims against him since he didn't hit me. Drivers should be careful when making left turns, especially because bicycles can be approaching at high speeds behind a car. Drivers just don't seem to know how fast bikes can be.

I'm still in pain due to the road rash. It hurts the most when I put antiseptic cleansers on it. I can't help but scream out in pain when I put that stuff on since it hurts so bad.

I just don't want to get an infection. I really hope that it doesn't leave a permanent scar. My arm looks horrible.

For some reason I do feel stronger after the accident because I survived a speed fall with just road rash. I hope I don't fall or get hit again for the rest of my life. Last time I got hit by a car in a similar situation where the driver was making a left turn, because she didn't see me due to her inattention.

Drivers, please be careful driving, especially around bikes!

I rode up Fargo Street (claimed to be the steepest hill in California) with Peter Dragonslayer Munoz. It's a 33% grade hill.

This hill is in the Echo Park/Silver Lake area. There are a few twin streets that are parallel to it like Baxster Street.

The steepest hill in America is in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at 35%. The steepest hill in the world is in New Zealand at 37%. San Francisco's steepest hill is 31.5%

I want to try Eldred Street in Highland Park/Mt. Washington which is rated at 33.3%

Going up Fargo St. was much tougher this year. I must not be in as good shape as last year. My bike needs a lot of work too. My rear derailleur was touching my rear wheel spokes when I put it into the lowest gear.

We didn't do the official LA Wheelman event since I didn't have time on Sunday. We just took a short break to go up there. Then, I went back to work.

It was much easier on my mountain bike which has lower gears to climb steep hills. Even then, I had to zigzag towards the top since it's the steepest at the apex.

I was able to do it last year on my triathlon bike a little bit easier than this time around. I just didn't have the confidence this year for some reason. I must be out of shape and so is my bike.

Peter and I took a few falls. I even fell walking up the hill since my bike cleats had no traction on that steep hill.

The pictures don't do the hill justice. If you want to see how steep it is, you'll just have to go there and try it yourself.
